Cycling along the Serbian-Romanian border, the Danube. I am on the Eurovelo 6 now, a very popular cycling route across Europe. And suddenly, in one day, I meet more cycletourers than I have in 11 months. Yesterday, the donations for my water projects reached the initial goal of 13.500 Euros. 102 donations have been made over the past 11 months. Friends, family, colleagues, followers, hosts, sports groups, schools, churches - a wide variety of people have contributed to make this happen. I am overwhelmed and incredibly happy for the generosity, kindness and trust that I encounter on a daily basis. Thank you to each and everyone for your support! As I am enjoying a coffee overlooking the Danube, I am realising that this river is going to lead me all the way to Germany. This means I am on the last stage of my trip. However, it is not yet time to become sentimental. Instead, I am feeling full of energy to make the best of the weeks to come. In this state of delusion, I am deciding to set another goal: Let's not only build a well in Cameroon, but also in Uganda! Shame on me for never having heard of Plovdiv before, an ancient town full of history. Founded either 6000 or 8000 years ago, it is considered one of the oldest constantly inhabitated settlements in Europe. As such it has been part of various empires and relicts can be found all over its impressive old town. Also had a great time at Hikers Hostel! #plovdiv #plowdiw #bulgaria #hikershostel
